I should have photographed these trees in full bloom, but the leaves have fallen so quickly. Before they all plummet, I was compelled to capture this image. The clouds are ghost-like, perfect for Halloween eve, as autumn breathes a final gasp of air before winter takes its place. Can you tell autumn is my favorite season?
Fall is such a visual feast, isn’t it? I love it too.

Visual feast – great phrase! I can’t imagine living anywhere that doesn’t have four seasons.

I feel that way too. Except during winter. That one I could do without. 😉

The freshly fallen snow that softly creates a winter wonderland is visual magic as well, but I get your point. The vantage point is from the inside looking out.

Thanks, Ro. Sorry you can’t comment. Strange because you have been able to in the past. Maybe if you can tell me the error message, I can go to the WordPress help desk.

Fall is my favorite season, too. It always has a feeling of new beginnings for me — probably a holdover from school and college, which of course start in fall. But the crispness in the air and the sudden chill always seem to light a creative spark in me. I’m sure a lot of it has to do with the outdoor beauty at this time and the inspiration it provides. When the leaves are exploding with color, everything just seems so much more vivid and real.

Yes, and in some areas, it looks like an oil painting that has come to life. Being surrounded by beauty is inspiring, especially to a writer. Your comment about new beginnings is interesting. That’s how I feel on my birthday, which happens to be in the fall:-)

I hear so many people say that fall is their favorite season. Because we’re heading into hibernation, maybe people see it as a time to pause, reflect and plan for the future? I’m not sure.
Happy fall birthday! Mine’s late summer, right as the season’s turning. When I feel that first twinge of fall, I always feel reinvigorated somehow — as if the world itself has taken in a deep breath in preparation for change.
