“All we can do is keep typing words into the universe. And I know at times it may not seem like much. But what you all do, and I believe this is important- it’s vital – you create reality. It’s the bloodstream that carries thoughts and visions, and makes us better in the end.” – Lewis Black
I’ve always liked Lewis Black. He’s like Seinfeld plus profanity. His caustic humor shows the absurdity of human behavior in scenarios as simple as our obsession with bottled water and as complicated as the political arena. He points out how hard it is for comics to conjure up anything more ludicrous than the events of our times. Comedy aside, today I found inspiration for all writers in his final words of the opening monologue to the Writers Guild.
