What a long, strange week it’s been. My first grandson was born; a big, bouncing baby boy – 9 pounds! He was five days late, and who can blame him? Who would want to be born into the chaos we are experiencing now? I wrote him a card welcoming him into the world with all it’s craziness and telling him how he would read about these times in his history books one day, and I told him the world is a better place because he was born.
This is also the week I retired from corporate life. I loved the job, and the fact that it was remote (pre-pandemic) was a big bonus. But over time, I began to question if it was still the right place for me. I thought about what it would take for me to adapt to the evolution I saw around me and if I was up to that. I finally decided I would rather change where I am than who I am.
When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.

Now I will be able to dedicate more time to my entrepreneurial aspirations as a freelance business writer, previously a part-time endeavor, and perhaps reinvent myself once again. Right now, I have five client orders on my desk for articles on the coronavirus.
Like I said, it’s been a crazy week.
Congratulations on the grand baby AND your new adventure as a freelance writer. Exciting times despite the current challenges. All the best and stay safe.

Thank you! Actually, it’s one client who has been sending me 5 orders almost every week. I’m grateful for that and am working to find more of the same.

Thank you, jml297. I like your term, “professional phase.” Life is full of phases we move in and out of, hoping we don’t get stuck in the revolving doors.
